Hugo Vieira Neto

I am a senior lecturer at the Electronics Department (DAELN) and the Post-graduation Program in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Informatics (CPGEI) at the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR). I am also a member of the Imaging and Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory (LABIEM) and the Computer Vision Laboratory (LVC).

My research focuses in real-time processing of visual information to be used in mobile robots for novelty detection and autonomous navigation. This is a challenging field that involves active vision, attention mechanisms and growing data structures for perceptual input representation. I am also currently engaged in research on visual perception for content-based image retrieval and have an active interest in geometric computing.
